The ReconTwist is made from a stainless steel reconstruction plate used in orthopaedic surgery to fix broken bones. This is the same plate used for the ReconRing THIN.

Uses: This size plate is most commonly used to repair smaller bones, like those found in the hands and feet. The plate is bent to the contour of the bone and then secured using surgical screws.
